With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Justina Suzanne Tice, who passed into Heaven on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the age of 42. She spent her final moments surrounded by all those she loved.

She was born May 25, 1981, in Hutchinson, KS, to James A. Tice and Karen S. (Siemens) Tice. Justina graduated from Buhler High School in 2000 and then received an Associates Degree from HCC. Justina was employed by USD 308 for the last 15 years. She started her career at Faris Elementary, then transferred to the Medicaid Clerk and Transportation coordinator at ESC, and had recently accepted a new position as the Technical System Support Specialist. Justina was also the Assistant Supervisor for outside gate admissions at the Kansas State Fair, and was an Election Board Official. Justina was loved dearly by her work family. This was evident by all the calls, texts, visits, cards, flowers, and messages that she received during this last month.

Justina is survived by: her son, Isaac Tice of Hutchinson; mother, Karen Tice of Hutchinson; father, James Tice of Hutchinson; sisters, Krista (Kris) Jamison and Alisha (Brandon) McVey, both of Hutchinson; nieces and nephews, Dawson Jamison, Payton Barnes, Parker Barnes, Gavin McVey, Rubie McVey, and Cooper McVey; and best friend, Katie Winkle of Hutchinson.

Justina was a loving person who cared deeply for her friends and family. Her vibrant and welcoming personality was able to befriend anyone she met, so it comes to no surprise that she had a wide range of friends she regularly kept in touch with. Her love for the Lord was exemplified in every aspect of her life. She was unbelievably snarky, funny, and caring. She was always there to lend an ear or a hug to those she cared about, and had the uncanny ability to remember distinct details about you to make you feel special.

Justina’s proudest accomplishment in life was being a mother to her son Isaac. This was apparent to all who knew her; she made sure to tell everyone what Isaac was doing in every stage of his life. She made sure that he had every chance and opportunity to fulfill his goals and aspirations.

Justina was a beloved Aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She was present and active in everything they did, and she loved them all beyond words. Justina’s unending kindness, support, and love for her family will be remembered and cherished forever.

She was preceded in death by:  her brother, Jonathan Tice; maternal grandmother, Rubie Siemens; aunt, Shirley Jones; and uncle, Keith Siemens.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Street, Hutchinson, KS.  Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.  A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., also at Union Valley Bible Church.

The family would like for all attendees to wear their favorite sports team attire to support her love for sports.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Justina Tice Memorial Fund, in care of Heartland Credit Union, PO Box 1645, Hutchinson, KS 67504-1645.  Elliott Mortuary and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
