Karen Lea Fisher, 59, of Langdon, died October 6, 2024, at her home. She was born April 17, 1965, in Pratt, to Charles L. and Carolyn S. (Johnson) Ostrom Sr.

Karen received her nursing degree from Pratt Community College and was a career nurse, working at Ascension Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita and at Stafford County Hospital for many years. She was known for her outgoing personality and contagious humor. Karen was an avid Kansas Jayhawks and San Francisco 49ers fan. She also loved cats, her dog Diesel, and Mustangs – her own was named Sally. Karen was a fighter, battling health issues in recent years. Most of all, her grandkids were her life.

On May 13, 1990, Karen married Dennis E. Fisher, in Kingman. He survives.

Also surviving are: her daughter, Jackie Redinger (fiancé, Lance Caskey) of Hutchinson; sons, Joshua Ostrom of Montgomery, AL, Jeremy Fisher (Ashley) of Wichita; grandchildren, Christyna Reifschneider (Jack), Hunter Redinger, Amie Fisher, Madisen McCarty Ostrom, Kyairra Ostrom, Hailea Redinger, Hogan McClure, Aaliyah Ostrom, King Joshua Ostrom Jr., Khaleesie Ostrom, Harriet Ostrom, Barret Fisher, Mila Fisher; five great-grandchildren; mother, Carolyn Johnson of Hutchinson; brothers, Charlie Ostrom (Loretta) of Hutchinson, Adam Ostrom (Mary Margaret) of Gillette, WY; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her father; son, Fred Fisher; grandson, DeAnte Ostrom; several aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Partridge Cemetery.

The service will be livestreamed and the link to view it below will be active at 12:45 p.m. the day of the service.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
