Charles “Charlie” Lee Smith, 67, of Marquette, KS, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at his home in Marquette.  He retired in 2022 from Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant where he was a Quality Control Electrical Supervisor and previously a Nuclear Inspector.

Charlie was born on November 16, 1955, in Marquette, KS, the son of Kristen and Sarah Jane (Sjögren) Smith.  He graduated from Marquette High School in 1973.

He served in the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors include: his wife, Bonnie Arms of Marquette, KS; sons, Brandon Smith (Angie) of Lyndon, KS, Blaine Smith (Candance) of Topeka, KS, Matthew Smith of Melvern, KS, and Zachary Smith of Ottawa, KS; a brother, Alan Smith (Jeanne) of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren; and a niece, Kristen Gibbs of Jones, OK; Bonnie’s son, Brenton Arms of Virginia; Bonnie’s daughter, Rebecca Arms Cooch of Arizona; Bonnie’s grandson, Cameron Guse of Michigan; and many extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, July 10, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 11, at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Marquette Lutheran Cemetery.
