Orvan Ray Schrock, 82, formerly of Haven, died February 12, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 4, 1941, in rural Reno County, to Rufus J. and Edna (Troyer) Schrock.
Orvan graduated from Central Christian High School in 1959, and Salt City Business College in 1960. He also attended Northwestern University, Chicago, IL. Orvan was the transportation director for Haven School District USD 312 for 12 years, worked as a dairy farmer, and as an accountant. He enjoyed restoring old cars, working in his shop, antique tractors, and watching all sporting teams. Orvan was a member of Haven United Methodist Church.
Orvan married Susan Alice Christiansen on October 19, 1963. He later married Linda (Schultess) Belden on March 18, 1994, in Colorado.
Orvan is survived by: wife, Linda Schrock of Haven; children, Kimberly Schrock (Marc McCrary) of Hutchinson and Ted Schrock (Lori) of Surprise, AZ; stepchildren, Keith Engweiler of Haven and Nancy Belden (Steve) of Lago Vista, TX; sister, Susie Graber (Merle) of Peoria, AZ; brothers, Glen Schrock of Altoona, IA, and Lawrence Schrock of Englewood, FL; grandchildren, Quentin Moore (Carson), Kelsey Epp (Viktor), and Jake McCrary; step-grandchildren, Alexis Morrison (Hayden); five great-grandchildren; and Kimberly and Ted’s mother, Susan.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Irene Schrock Beckler (Maurice) and Florence Schrock Stoltzfus (Richard; sisters-in-law, Esther Schrock and Anne Schrock; and step-granddaughter, Mackensi Belden.
Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
