Life Enrichment Coordinator (Activities) – Senior Independent Living
Location: Hutchinson, Kansas Status: Full-Time Salary Range: $18–$26 per hour
Position Overview
The Life Enrichment Coordinator for Independent Living reports to the Vice President of Public Relations. This position is responsible for developing and managing a variety of cultural, social, recreational, and educational programs that enhance the quality of life for independent living residents. The coordinator also organizes welcome activities for new residents and assists with community-wide events.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and implement engaging activities for independent living residents (Duplexes, Towers, Wesley Manor, and Asbury Apartments), including occasional evening and weekend events.
- Prepare and distribute a monthly calendar of activities.
- Produce and publish the weekly resident newsletter.
- Organize and facilitate Duplex Council and Town Hall meetings.
- Coordinate transportation for residents to community events and outings.
- Decorate public indoor areas for holidays and special occasions.
- Collaborate with the VP of Public Relations and other Life Enrichment Coordinators to plan and execute organization-wide events such as parades, festivals, and the annual United Way fundraising campaign.
- Promote The Wesley brand by photographing activities, sharing selected images on social media, and maintaining the slideshow on the lobby television.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in senior living or geriatric care preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
- Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving ability.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
