EDWARDS COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just before 3:30p.m. Saturday in Edwards County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Honda Civic driven by Aaron JG Pineda, 29, Garden City, was stuck on the railroad tracks on 310th Avenue just north of U.S. 50. An eastbound Amtrak train struck the car.
Pineda was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to McKillip Funeral Home. The conductor, engineer and an additional 113 occupants on board the train were not injured.
