KINGMAN COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 2 a.m. Thursday in Kingman County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Kenworth semi driven by Lawrence Eugene Kempf, 57, Amarillo, Texas, was westbound on U.S. 54 four miles east of Kingman.
The semi struck a pedestrian identified as Daniel Guevara, 63, Kansas City, Missouri, who was in the roadway near the center line.
Guevara was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Livingston Funeral Home.
Kempf was properly restrained and not injured, according to the KHP.
