Weldon D. Wenger, 81, of Newton, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his home. He was born on January 7, 1943 in Newton, the son of Herby and Elva (Yost) Wenger.

He was a member of the Garden View Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in rural Halstead.

Weldon was a lifelong farmer and former Pioneer Seed dealer.

He was united in marriage to Lois Fern Ensz on November 3, 1963 in Inman. She survives of the home.

Weldon is also survived by his son, Kendall (Darla) Wenger of Newton; daughter, Lori Townsend of Arcadia, FL; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Vernon (Carol) Wenger of Raleigh, NC, and Merle (Lena) Wenger of Newton; and sisters, Donna (Jerry) Nickel of Moundridge, and Carolyn Wenger of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2024 at Garden View Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 3, at the Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
