HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Drivers should prepare for temporary road closures around the Kansas State Fairgrounds as the 2026 Kansas State Fair gets underway.
Plum Street will close at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, and remain closed through Sunday night. The street is expected to reopen around 11 p.m. Sunday following the concert.
From Monday, Sept. 14, through Thursday, Sept. 17, Plum Street will close daily from 9 a.m. until approximately 10:30 p.m.
Plum Street will again close at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, and remain closed through Sunday evening. It is expected to reopen around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, State Fair Road will be limited to Kansas State Fair parking access. Regular through traffic will not be permitted.
Drivers traveling near the fairgrounds should plan alternate routes and allow additional time. Officials said reopening times are approximate and could change depending on fair activities.
