Mary Armstrong James, 77, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 in Hutchinson, Ks. She was born on June 17, 1947 to her parents, Archibald (Army) Armstrong and Mary Helena Thompson Armstrong. Mary was the first of 2 daughters born to them on that day.

Mary graduated from Hutchinson High School, with the Class of 1965.  In 1972 she had a son, Thomas William James, Austin, TX.

After she retired from Lowens Sign Company. Mary decided to do what she loved, which was crafting. She launched Double Trouble Yard Art with her twin sister. Mary would go to local craft shows around Hutchinson, along with Reno County Farmers Market. Everyone knew, if they wanted to laugh and enjoy the crafts from Double Trouble Yard Art, they just needed to look for the ladies wearing the pink tutu's. Mary was the one wearing the RED eyeglasses. Mary brought joy and laughter to all she talked to.

She is survived by her twin sister, Marjorie F. Armstrong Hook, Hutchinson; son, Thomas W. James, Austin, TX. Her nephew, David L. Kienzle, Andover and nieces, Theresa Fry Flesner and Toni Fry Sarratt, Gentry, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by both parents and sister, Jacquelyn Armstrong Fry, Gentry Arkansas.

She was a member of St Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson, KS. The family will be planning a celebration of her life at a later time. Mary's wishes were to have no funeral service and to be cremated.

Her loving and funny personality will be missed by many!
