Russell Glen Baker, 60, died Monday, August 26, 2024 at his home in Haysville, Kansas.
He was born on October 24, 1963 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Russell L. and Helen Hedgepath Baker. Russell was raised in the Hutchinson and Burrton area.
Graduating from Burrton High School in 1982, Russell later went to Junior College in Concordia and McPherson where he played basketball. He still holds some of the school records at Burrton High School.
For many years he had worked at the Wichita area aircraft companies, retiring from Spirit in 2013. He married Kathleen Diann Decker on August 27, 2013 in Hutchinson.
Survivors include his wife Kathy of the home; his children Blake Baker and wife Becki of St. Charles, Mo., Erren Baker of Clearwater, Zachary Baker and wife Christine of Moscow Mill, Mo., Jordan Baker and wife Emily of St. Peters, Mo., Jacob Baker with Makaila Chadwick of Wichita, Nathan Baker with Sydney Alexander of Phoenix, Az., Heather Magby of Wichita,
and Ryan Magby and wife Roula of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and eight grandchildren with one more due in December.
Russell is also survived by his parents Russell and Helen Baker of Clearwater; and brother Tony Baker and wife Sheryl of Little Rock, Ark.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later time.
