
Betty Lou (Morris) Hill, 93, of Buhler, died July 25, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. She was born January 23, 1932, in Hutchinson, to Thomas A. and Edna E. (Lisman) Morris.
Betty graduated from Yaggy Grade School and Reno Community High School in Nickerson. She was a farm wife and homemaker on the family farm near Plevna for 50 years before retiring and moving to Hutchinson. Betty was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was the organist for Huntsville and Sylvia United Methodist Churches and past member of U.M.W. She was a community leader for Huntsville 4-H Club, Secretary of Reno County 4-H Fair Board, served 3 years on Farmers Home Administration Board. Betty was also a member of Hutchinson Iris Club, joining in 1964, and American Iris Society. She also was a waitress at South Central Livestock Café, worked in the E.H.U. booth and Fine Arts Department at the Kansas State Fair for 50 years, and was inducted into “Kansas Association Hall of Fame” in 1990.
On March 23, 1952, Betty married Lloyd Grant Hill, in Nickerson. They shared 73 years of marriage. He survives.
Also surviving are: her children, Bruce Hill (Shirla) of Mountain Home, AR, Debra Crose of Hutchinson; son-in-law, Dennis Mesa of Olathe; grandchildren, Tomisha Broach (Jason), Russell Hill, Krista Cannon (Aaron), Andrea Mesa-Leathers (Chris), Brittany Mesa-Algarra (Nathan), Jessica Wingler (Jason), Megan Fitzwater (Dustin), Richard Van Deusen; 15 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Lanette Mesa; sisters, Vesta Cooper and husband Harland, Eula Mae Morris; brothers, Claude Morris and wife Doris, Amos Morris and wife Esther.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and the link to view it (below) will be available beginning at 10:15 a.m. the day of the service.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. the day of the service at Elliott Mortuary.
