Kocis big blast gives the Monarchs an extra inning win over San Diego in first round of NBC

HUTCHINSON, Kan.-Garrett Kocis was due and came through in the bottom the the 10th and scored Cooper Harris from 1st base to propel the Hutchinson Monarchs to a 4-3 first game win in the National Baseball Congress Thursday at Hobart-Detter Field.

Kocis hit was a blast down the left field line that hit the warning track on the fly to drive in Harris. Kocis is batting .173 since joining the Monarchs. He is coming back from a wrist injury in the spring.

The Monarchs advance to Saturday night at 6 p.m. and will play the Hays Larks who got the win earlier on Thursday over the MidCrest Pumas from Illinois.
