
Max D. Miller, 72, died August 17, 2023, at his home. He was born July 23, 1951, in Newton, KS, to Maurice Gene and Evelyn Nadine (Hughes) Miller.
Max was a 1969 graduate of Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson, KS. He was a baker at Betts Rainbo Bakery, Hutchinson, KS, retiring with over 20 years of service. Max then worked as a technician for the City of Hutchinson at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. He enjoyed all genres of music and it did not matter who the performing artist was.
On November 13, 1982, Max married Priscilla ‘Beth’ Elizabeth Sharlow, at Westside Baptist Church, Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 40 years of marriage.
Max is survived by: his wife, Beth Miller of Hutchinson, KS; sons, Levi (Shannon) Short of Gardner, KS, and Joey (Kelli) Short of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Ethan Short, Colby Short, Bélynn Short, Sage Short, and Ethan Carter; sisters, Nancy Johnson of Hutchinson, KS, Loretta (Joel) Miller of Scottsdale, AZ, and Brenda Miller of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Kara Johnson of Boulder, CO; and nephew, Radimir Blickenstaff of Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place. The family encourages you to dress casually for the memorial service.
