HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The United Way of Reno County and the Reno County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) will be hosting a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for those affected by the fires from this weekend.
A MARC is a single location where disaster relief agencies come together to provide resources and assistance to meet the needs of those affected by a disaster. It will be held Tuesday, March 8, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Sunflower South Building on the fairgrounds.
This will provide one location for several disaster recovery agencies to connect with the fire victims. The center will serve as a meeting place for those affected to gain information, debrief, gain emotional and spiritual support as well. It will also provide clients with referrals and/or directions for additional off-site and ongoing services.
VOAD’s mission is to meet the need for ongoing coordination in Reno County providing volunteer, financial, spiritual, physical and/or psychological support for people whose lives have been affected by a disaster in our community.
