Alice May Pitts-Wade, 63, went to her heavenly home on October 8, 2022. Alice was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on August 28, 1959. Alice was the oldest child out of seven; sibling includes James (Nancy) Pitts Jr., Judith Beacham, Harry (Sherry) Pitts, Edith (Jose) Castaneda, Patricia (Mike) Hoffman and half-brother, Mike Pitts and her stepmother Joyce Ploog.
Alice had her oldest daughter, Michele Lynn Pitts-Zubia, followed by yet another girl, Shirley Marie Pitts-Wanjau and stepson Michael Johnson. Alice worked as a homemaker throughout most of her life while raising children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Michele Lynn Pitts-Zubia, Shirley (Lawrence) Wanjau; stepson, Michael Johnson; eight grandchildren, Luis, Carlos, Cosme, Luisa, Harry, Pedro, Christian, Wachira (WA (she)Rah) and two great grandchildren, Angel, Xavian.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Novotny and James Pitts Sr., brother, Harry Pitts; grandson, Luis Pitts and many more grandparents.
Alice had many names she went by that include Mom, Grandmother, GG, Granny, Nanna and “Ally Cat.” Alice enjoyed arts and crafts, being part of the Red Hats, baking and spending time with grandchildren. Alice had a heart of gold and loved to give. If you were one of the lucky ones, you received her hand-crafted holiday cards that put a smile on your face. You could never leave her house without food or candy.
Celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Full Gospel Church, 414 E. Ave G, Hutchinson. Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
