Donna Jeanne Moye, 73, died August 11, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born January 24, 1951, in Abilene, to Chauncy Hampton and Mary Louise (Saunders) White.
Donna graduated from Abilene High School in 1969, Hutchinson Community Junior College in 1973, and Don’s Floral Academy in 1992.
She spent her working career as a Front Desk Receptionist for Rainbow Bakery. She was later employed as a computer analyst for Chevron Oil, Skelly Oil, and Getty Oil. She eventually retired in 2003 from Chevron Oil.
On February 14, 1980, she married Arthur Garfield Moye, Jr., in Miami, OK. Donna and Arthur shared 27 years of marriage until he died on March 13, 2007.
She was active in the community as part of the Professional Business Women’s Association, and a Certified Floral Designer. Donna was a member of the Local Chapter of the NAACP and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Hutchinson, where she will long be remembered (and missed) for playing her tambourine.
Donna is survived by her brother, Bernie Kenneth White, nieces Ivy Collier, Sherry Ettiene, Mariah Furrer, and nephew Nathan Furrer.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, 11 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 1015 E. 7th, Hutchinson, KS. Pastor William J. Green, Sr. will preside.
Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers, to the Donna Moye Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501. To benefit the Donna Moye Memorial Fund, please make the check payable to Elliott Mortuary.
