Jerry Adrian “AJ” Burns born October 2, 1935 quietly passed away at home on June 24, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents Buzz and Irene of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and his siblings Dorothy, Jim, and Max, son-in-law Mark Goforth and grandson James Shipman.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; sons, Scott (Rockie) Burns, of Newton, KS; Eric Burns of Omaha, NE; Chad Burns of Valley Center KS and daughter Chris Goforth of Papillion, NE; six grandchildren Allie, Brock, Bailey, Mason, Isabel, Max and two great grandchildren Paxton and Willow; in-laws Charlotte Burns, of TX, Sidney and Lois Nattier of Newton, KS, Robert and Donna Nattier of Newton, KS; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was an educator in the Wichita Public School System for over 35 years. He also served as a Deacon at Cornerstone Christian Church. AJ was a family man full of love, compassion, honor, integrity, respect and his faith in God knew no bounds.
Viewing is Thursday, June 29th 2023 at Baker’s Funeral Home located at 100 S Cedar, Valley Center, KS 67147. Funeral Service is Friday June 30, 2023, at Cornerstone Christian Church, 5531 E 37th St N, Wichita, KS 67220. Graveside following at Restlawn Cemetery on West Hwy 50, Newton, KS.
