
Howard Rinehart Huber, 90, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kansas.
Howard was born in Durham, Kansas on April 3, 1933, the son of Henry and Esther (Berg) Huber. Howard attended Lindsborg Grade School and McPherson High School. He served in the U.S. Army. Through the years Howard owned and operated Hank's Place Tavern, McPherson, until he retired. Howard enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and spending time with his friends and family, and all the community that supported him in his business. Howard Huber was united in marriage to Patricia Sarah Hinkel on November 26, 2015 in McPherson.
He is survived by his wife; brother, Raymond (Audrey) Huber of Rodgers, Arkansas; sister, Deloris Nutter of Pryor, Oklahoma; step son, Cecil Gage of McPherson; step granddaughter, Crystal Wilson and step great granddaughter, Desiree Pearson. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Annabelle Huber; his brother, Henry Huber, Jr.; and his sister, Norma Peterson.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Glidden- Ediger-Wiggins Chapel, McPherson. Private family burial will be at McPherson Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2415.
Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at New Gottland Lutheran Church in McPherson, with Pastor Laura Smith officiating.
