SCKEDD seeking contractors for local projects

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The South Central Kansas Economic Development District, that is helping Interfaith Housing with the federally and locally funded Housing Resurgence Program is looking for contractors to do work in that program. Those contractors have a mandatory meeting next week.

SCKEDD is looking for licensed electricians, HVAC contractors, plumbers, window, siding and guttering contractors, roof contractors and general contractors.

Contractors must have Workman's Comp and general liability insurance.

A mandatory bidders tour will take place May 16 at 9 a.m.

Contractors must provide references with their bid packet as high value will be placed on quality of work. SCKEDD may use any of the following factors to determine who gets bids: price, quality of references, timeliness in completing work, quality of completed work, timeliness and quality in billing and any other factor as specified in the bid packet.

The bid tour will be at five properties on May 16, addresses and scope of work will be provided to those properly requesting a bid packet.

Bids will be due and opened May 31, no later than 2 p.m.

Bid awards will be submitted to recipients after that date.
