Ag Minute: Almond farmers and pesticide restrictions

However, farmers in that area have a big problem, because it's been invaded by rats.   A newsletter from the Almond Board of California says that a major rat infestation has caused potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in damage over the past year. 

In the San Joaquin Valley, more than 100,000 acres have been impacted with a loss of over $300 million dollars.  The reason....  more strict state pesticide regulations have hindered effective rodent management by limiting several options.
