Wallace “Wally/Walt” S. Wren, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born June 2, 1943, in Springfield, MO, to Ray A. and Lorene E. (Martin) Wren Jr.
On Nov. 1, 1960, Wally joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged and retired after 30 years of serving our country. He later worked for Zales Jewelry and retired in 2005. Wally enjoyed family gatherings, martial arts, playing the Kansas Lottery and going to the casinos.
Wally is preceded by his parents and a daughter, Kelly Jo Martin.
He is survived by his by two sons, Jay Jazquez and wife, Jennifer, and Michael Wren and wife Misti; a daughter, Sian Jazquez; two sisters, Lynda Penny and husband, Richard and Kay Kissick and husband Jay; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 11, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th St., Hutchinson, KS 67502. Military honors will be conducted by United States Navy Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to Hutchinson Animal Shelter, and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS 67502.
