HUTCHINSON, Kan. — At Monday night's Hutchinson USD 308 Board of Education meeting, the board approved the appointment of Valarie Gibson-Smith to the unexpired term of Kail Denison.
Gibson-Smith had lost her seat in the fall 2023 election, but prior to that time, was board president following the departure of Greg Meredith, who moved out of the district.
Gibson-Smith's new seat will be up for election in the fall of 2025.
