Police ID victim in fatal shooting at Kansas food plant

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a deadly shooting in Topeka have identified the victim as 39-year-old  Reginald D. Previtte, 39, of Topeka.

Just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a reported shooting Reser's Fine Foods, 3167 SE 10th Street in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Ronnie Connell.

First responders found Previtte suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident that occurred in the parking lot and no other injuries have been reported.   Police have not reported an arrest or any suspect details.

Reser's is a family owned and operated prepared food business, according to the company web site. This is the third homicide investigation of 2024
