
KANSAS CITY—A 10-year-old boy missing after a sleepwalking incident on Thursday has been found dead.
Just after midnight early Thursday, Jackson, who is known to sleepwalk, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina, walked out of his home at 1118 NW Vivon Road. He has no diagnosed medical conditions.
Just after noon Thursday, officers searching the area located Jackson unresponsive in a pond near the Briarcliff Village on north Mulberry. Fire and rescue personnel immediately began resuscitation efforts but unfortunately he was declared deceased there at that location.
This will now be a death investigation conducted by members of the KCPD investigations bureau. There were no immediate signs of foul play. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death at the conclusion of their investigation.
