Red Cross announces blood drives in Reno County

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Red Cross announced three opportunities to give blood in the c9ounty this month. The three blood drives will be held February 16 at the Clayworks at 125 N Main from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.; February 26 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and finally in Pretty Prairie at the Graber Mercantile at 115 W Main.

You can make an appointment by gong to redcrossblood.org  or calling 1-800-733-2767 or 1-800 Red Cross. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate.

High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
