HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Alex Jones, APRN with Hutchinson Primary Care Associates inside the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is advocating for immunizations to prevent more serious illness from respiratory diseases this spring, such as COVID-19.
"We offer all of the preventative vaccines you can need," Jones said. "We are getting in the COVID boosters. We chose to do the bivalent version. That will also cover you against the new Omicron that's been out, anybody that's due for boosters, we'd love to help them out."
Most people just need a single booster beyond their initial two doses that they got during the pandemic, but if you have underlying conditions, you might be recommended for two in a year's time.
"We try to get everybody streamlined and in as quickly as we can," Jones said. "If you're an established patient with our clinic, you can walk in on a nurse visit and get vaccines completed. If you're not, we'd love to see you on a same-day visit or get scheduled, or if your provider offers these vaccines already, then you can always work to reach out to them, as well."
If you already are feeling ill, don't wait to see a provider, they can get you in the same day.
"Any cough, shortness of breath, feeling like you're having trouble catching your breath, sore throat, the headaches and sinus congestion, diarrhea, vomiting, any of those types of things we can easily treat on a same day visit and evaluate."
Call 620-513-4850 to schedule an appointment or walk in for urgent care. Hutchinson Family Practice Associates are located on the third floor in the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, unit 3100.
