Midge Sidebottom, 83, died December 29, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler. She was born March 4, 1940, in Hutchinson, KS, to Martin and Verna Marie (Chase) Smith.
Midge graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1958, and Adela Hale in 1960. During her life, Midge managed rentals, was an office manager for Sinclair Pest Control, had a home daycare, becoming like a grandmother to many, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Antique Club and Red Hat Society. Midge attended Inspire Church, formerly known as First Church of Nazarene, Hutchinson. She was a Christ-follower who lived out her faith and values in the community with her church, workplace and family.
On April 1, 1961, she married Bobby F. Sinclair, they had three daughters and shared over 40 years of marriage before his death on November 25, 2001. On January 11, 2003, she married Lonnie M. Sidebottom in Hutchinson. They shared over 19 years of marriage before his death on June 11, 2022.
Midge is survived by her: daughters, Linda Sinclair Hackney of Wichita, Becky Sinclair of Lee’s Summit, MO, Stephanie (Brian) Augustine of Hutchinson; grandchildren, David Blick, Joshua (Elle) Augustine, Theo Johnson, Lindsey Blick, Brittni (Matt) Gianakon, Breann (Jon) Titus, Shelby Augustine; great-grandchildren, Hailey Gianakon, Brooklyn Blick, Tia Fitzpatrick, Addison Neal, Jurzee Shearhod, Paxton Cupp, Malachi Cupp, and Taytum Blick-Shearhod; brother, Freddie (Betty) Hoefer of Hutchinson; sisters Judy Cole of Wichita, Wanda Alls of Seymour, TN; bonus children, Kevin Sidebottom of Inman, LaNell (Ray) Hoover of Hutchinson, Keith Sidebottom of Hutchinson and wife, Marta Sidebottom of Perris, CA; bonus grandchildren, Erica (Joshua) Jones of Hutchinson, Troy Hoover of Hutchinson, Gabriela Sidebottom of Nuevo, CA, Noah Sidebottom of Hutchinson; bonus great-grandchildren, Lillia, Allana, and Wesley Jones of Hutchinson; bonus brother, Arthur Sidebottom of Wichita; bonus sister, Deloris (Jerry) Carr of Victoria, TX; bonus sisters-in-law, Earlene Mitchell of Garden City, Sharolyn Sidebottom of Midland City, AL; bonus brother-in-law, Steve (Jana) Owens of Mart, TX and many extended family members.
Midge was preceded in death by her: parents; husbands, Bobby F. Sinclair and Lonnie M. Sidebottom; sister, Thelma Klotz; great-granddaughters, Breanna and Aurorah Blick; and special family friend, Gayle Cline.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
