James L. “Jimmy” Jackson |1965-2023|

James L. “Jimmy” Jackson, 57, of Hutchinson, died January 14, 2023, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. He was born September 13, 1965, in Hutchinson, to Robert G. and Hazel M. (Justice) Jackson.

Jimmy graduated from Central Christian High School, played football at Sterling College, and received his bachelor’s degree from Friends University. He was a tennis coach for Hutchinson Middle Schools and at Prairie Dunes and had previously worked for many years at Thyssen Krupp. Besides being an avid tennis player, Jimmy loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, and was a lover of music and art. He was known for his big personality, sense of humor, and generosity.

He had 2 beautiful daughters, Hannah and Abigail, with Joyce Lohrentz.

Jimmy is survived by: his daughters, Hannah Beam (Nathan) of Hutchinson, Abigail Hubbell (Isaac) of St. Paul, MN; mother, Hazel Stevinson (Joe) of Blue Springs, MO; siblings, Kathy Stucky (Frank) of Newton, Joey Jackson (Nita) of Andover, Bill Jackson (Vickey) of Hutchinson; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Phil Auxier of Crestview Bible Church officiating. The service will be livestreamed and the link to view it below will be active at 10:45 a.m. the day of the service. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
