Lovella Fern Franz, 94, of Inman, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at her home. She was born March 18, 1929 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Peter T. and Selma (Plett) Franz.
She grew up and attended school in Inman and graduated from Inman High School.
Lovella was united in marriage to Albert Jake Franz on October 23, 1949.
She was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Church, where she often enjoyed playing the piano.
She was a devoted homemaker and did custom harvesting with her husband.
Lovella is survived by her husband of almost 75 years, Albert Franz; two sons, Brad (Teresa) Franz of Inman, and Doug (Bonnie) Franz of Buhler; grandchildren Michelle (Steven) Lillard of Olathe, Jenny Franz of Overland Park, Julie (Tim) Mathias of Hutchinson, Stephanie (Brendan) Isaacson of Buhler, and Brian Franz of Buhler; great-grandchildren, Chase Franz-Miller, Jake and Jensen Mathias, and Ellie and Emmie Isaacson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn (Howard) Lohrentz, and Verna Mae (Melvin) Siemens; and nephew, Byron Siemens.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 10, 2023 at Buhler Mennonite Church. Private burial will take place at Little River Township Cemetery, rural Buhler. Memorial contributions may be made to Buhler Mennonite Church in care of Buhler Mortuary, PO Box 589, Buhler, KS 67522.
