William ‘Bill’ Allen Garber |1935-2023|

William ‘Bill’ Allen Garber, 88, died June 1, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born May 4, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Leo and Ellen Matilda (Gillock) Garber.

Bill graduated from Buhler High School in 1953. He worked for various companies, such as, Morton Salt and Stroberg Equipment Company. In addition, he was a Captain at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility, owned and operated Bob Inn Tavern in Nickerson.

Bill enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, playing dominoes, pool and snooker. He was part of Romeo Riders Motorcycle Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out) and he and his friends rode their motorcycles to small towns to eat and drink coffee at various restaurants, Spangles being one of them.

On October 1955, he married Nina Rose Stoughton, in Buhler. They shared almost 68 years of marriage.

William is survived by: his wife, Nina Garber of Hutchinson; children, Nina Jarmer of Hutchinson and William ‘Bill’ (Kelly) Garber of Manhattan; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; his parents; brother, Dale Garber; and infant sister, Oma Jean Garber.

Bill was a simple man and per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
