Kan. sex offender accused of distributing child pornography

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a registered Kansas sex offender on new sex crime allegations.

On Thursday, Jeremy Vanness, 36, of Cheney was indicted on two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography, according to the United State's Attorney.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are investigating the case. 

In 2007, Vanness was convicted on two counts of possessing a video, visual depiction of an unclothed minor child engaging in sexual explicit behavior, according to the KBI offender registry. He has been a registered offender since 2010.
