Gladine Ruth Schneider, 89, of Hesston, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at Schowalter Villa. She was born on November 12, 1934 in Moundridge, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence Frank and Gladys Ruth (Wiggers) Schneider.
Gladine attended Maple Grove School in rural Moundridge.
She was a member of the Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Hesston.
Gladine was a farmer, where she raised pigs, chickens and milked cows and she would sell the eggs and dairy products.
She made many friends in the Hesston community selling her baked goods, and was known as the cookie lady.
She is survived by her sister, Clara Belle Schneider of Hesston; nieces, Valerie Schneider (John Dowling) in Phoenix, AZ, and Cheryl (Bryan) Kristenson of Newton; nephew, Ron (Jeana) Schneider of Hesston; and several great nieces and nephews.
Gladine was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Lavern “Skeet” Schneider.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Hesston. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 23 at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
