Gene Schafer, 72, passed away January 22, 2023 at Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born September 15, 1950 in Wichita to George and Mollie (Meier) Schafer. Survivors include: son, Cody (Shaina) Schafer of Tampa; daughter, Kelli Kidd (Craig Schmitt) of McPherson; grandchildren, Canon Schafer, Sage Schafer.
Celebration of Life 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Hillsboro American Legion. Committal service 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Durham Park cemetery rural Durham. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
