HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council is going through the process of approving a donation of public art for the new trailhead of the Bad Bobby Helfrich trail.

According to the trail updates page on Facebook, with input from the family, sculptor Amos Robinson is creating a kinetic sculpture of Bad Bobby Helfrich doing what he loved the most. It will be mounted on a tall pole at the 39th and Plum trailhead. The wheels will spin with the wind.

Very generous private donors got the ball rolling on the project.

Donations will help complete the sculpture, along with many other amenities at the trailhead and along the trail. All donors will have their name on a "Friends of Bad Bobby" plaque, located at the trailhead.
