James Neal “Jim” Wagler, 63, went home to glory June 1, 2024, at Mercy Hospital, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born July 3, 1960, to Charles and Lurlene (Mosier) Wagler, at the Sterling Hospital, Sterling.

Jim was a 1979 graduate of Nickerson High School.  He lived and worked on the Wagler farm, near Abbyville, most of his adult life.  For six years, Jim lived in Sterling as a full-time caregiver for his father, until his father’s death in 2020.  He then lived with his sisters in Oklahoma and Texas, until his recent hospitalization. 

Jim accepted Christ as his Savior in 1977, and was baptized and accepted as a member of Sterling Evangelical Bible Church in 1978.  He served as a choir member, usher, and faithful attender.

Jim is survived by:  brother, Stan (Kathy) Wagler of rural Abbyville; sisters, Susan (Lowell) Entz of Yukon, OK, and Shelly (Baron) Clifford of Shiner, TX; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many cherished nieces and nephews. In 2000, he gained a stepbrother, Todd (Lillian) Zimmerman of rural Sterling and a stepsister, Debra (Atlee) Preheim of Hesston.  

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, 3017 N. Sterling Road, Sterling, with Pastor Lowell Entz officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may call from and 9:00a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sterling Evangelical Bible Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
