SCKEDD work going forward

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Julia Westfahl with SCKEDD provided the Housing Commission and Hutch Post with information regarding the SCKEDD Housing Resurgence Program.         

SCKEDD has already closed on the first home in that program and work has already begun on the yard clean. On April 11, SCKEDD hosted a bid tour attracting 17 local contractors.   Bids will be due April 25 and awards will be issued no later than May 1.  

SCKEDD is under contract on another home that will close in June/July.   The second home will hit several areas of the expressed interest of neighborhood “creep” and main traffic areas. 

Westfahl also gave an update on SCKEDD's partnership with Interfaith Housing Community Services on ARPA funding. SCKEDD has completed 11 inspections on owner occupied homes. Bid tours were facilitated on April 11 of four homes, attracting 17 contractors. Bids on those projects are due April 25, Contracts will be issued no later than May 1. Three of those four homes will receive weatherization services as well.
