HUTCHINSON, Kan. — With the 2023 Kansas State Fair set to begin September 8, you'll see a new screen on the Grandstand at the fair, thanks to Tyson Foods.
"We went out and started looking at a new screen for the west side," Schulz said. "It's called the Grand Size West Side Grandstand Screen. It basically is going to give the opportunity to put out information during the Fair, letting people know what's going on, but then it's also an opportunity to do events offseason, such as, maybe like a Drive In movie or something of that sort."
Tyson Foods, Inc., is one of the world’s largest food companies and a recognized leader in protein and will have ads running on the screen during the fair.
"The screen is approximately 16 feet tall and 28 feet wide," Schulz said. "It features the latest LED technology and is able to run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We're probably not going to be running it that long, but it gives us the opportunity to use this. This is the latest and greatest technology when it comes to big screens like this."
Tyson has facilities across the Midwest, including in Hutchinson and South Hutchinson.
"They made a three-year commitment to help offset the cost of this new screen," Schulz said. "We are just really, really excited about having that. We think it will give a lot more information to the general public as they are walking through the fair and just an added addition to that side of the grandstands."
The celebration of all things Kansas begins Friday, September 8 for ten days through Sunday, September 17, 2023.
