HARVEY COUNTY —No April Fool's joke Monday in Harvey County. According to a social media report from Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper Chad Crittenden, Master Trooper Morris stopped a motorist on Highway 50 in Harvey County for driving 95mph over the posted speed limit.

In February, KHP Lieutenant Craig Davis had an encounter with a 2011 BMW on Interstate 70, checking its speed at 151 mph, 76 mph over the speed limit, according to a social media report from the KHP.

During approximately the same week, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported two traffic stops for 100-plus miles per hour within 6 miles in the same afternoon, and both vehicles had children in the car, according to a social media report.

The resulting fine for Lieutenant Davis's efforts on alone amounted to $993, not including the second ticket from police.  Trooper Morris did not report the amount of the fine for the driver on Monday.
