Kenneth "Short" Goebel |1927-2023|

Kenneth "Short" Goebel passed away on March 27, 2023. He was born on September 18, 1927, to Jake and Dorothy (Berry) Goebel.

At the age of 15, Short was a ranch hand for over 25 years on the Merrill Ranch in Comanche County.He later entered the U.S. Army and was an expert rifleman honorably discharged after his service.Short and Neomia were avid gardeners and canned most of the vegetables they grew.  He also loved hunting, fishing and coyote hunting with his many greyhounds.

He worked for years later at the Isabel Coop and retired in Isabel where they bought a home with land and still did gardening.  Short and Neomia are members of the First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nettie Lee; son, Terry; and brother, Billy. Survivors include his wife, Neomia; son, Ken; and two daughters, Dottie and Betty (William); sister, Betty Mae; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and an overwhelming number of friends and acquaintances. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the First Christian Church, 300 S. Main, Medicine Lodge, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the church would be appreciated.
