HUTCHINSON, Kan. — After a long negotiation session Wednesday the union representing USD 308 teachers and the school district are moving closer to an agreement.
According to District Human Resources Director Dr. Dawn Johnson, the two sides have agreed in principle on about 11 different issues with about six others left to discuss.
Johnson says that the district is offering a base salary increase to $41,331 including new funds from last year, along with a $750 bonus. Most of the other discussion centered around pay scale movement and verbiage on other issues.
Johnson says both sides talked for more than four hours on Wednesday and have agreed to meet again on August 24.
