HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Police in Hutchinson have received several reports of someone calling citizens, making threats and demanding money.

The callers say they have kidnapped the citizen's child and demand money. The phone number, 620.344.8910, has been showing up as "potential spam" on caller ID.

If you receive a call from this number, do not send any money or agree to any of the caller's demands, as it is a scam. Simply hang up.

They encourage you to not answer any phone calls that show up as spam on your caller ID. If you have questions, or want to check the validity of a phone call, you can call the non-emergency number at (620) 694-2816, or call 911.
