Kansas Master Naturalist course being offered

HUTCHINSON, Kan. —  Become an official Kansas Master Naturalist with a customized 40-hour training course, only offered every two years through Dillon Nature Center. The course begins Jan. 30 and meets on Tuesday afternoons through Apr. 2.

Professionals from across the state will teach each class on topics that include interpretation, ecology, geology, soils, plants, insects, reptiles and amphibians, fish, mammals and birds.

Classes will be held at DNC and other locations around central Kansas. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to all locations. After the 40 hours of coursework, participants will be required to do 30 hours of volunteer service on environmental projects that benefit the community.

The fee is $150 and you can register online. The registration deadline is Jan. 23.
