Cosmosphere scholarships still available

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Cosmosphere announced Tuesday it has extended the registration deadline to receive scholarships for summer Cosmosphere Camps. The deadline is now Monday, May 10.

This summer’s camps feature additional activities and objectives designed to make the camps more engaging, challenging and fun. From launching high-altitude weather balloons to a night spent 650 feet beneath the Earth’s surface, each camp offers something.

Camps are available for students entering grades three to 12. The Mission: Martian Base includes a field day activity at Strataca, a salt mine where campers will work in teams to build habitats, source food and build a rover vehicle — all as if they were on the surface of Mars rather than 650 feet beneath the surface on their own planet.

For more information, go to cosmocamps.org/camps or call 620-222-0201.
