Sherry Anita Piland, 73, of Hutchinson, died June 27, 2025, at her home. She was born October 4, 1951, in Falls City, NE, to Thomas A. and Irma M. (Goddard) Runyan.
Sherry attended Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. She worked at Sara Lee Baking Co. for over 23 years until retirement. After retirement, Sherry enjoyed working at Stutzman’s Greenhouse, Smith’s Market, and Hutchinson High School. She also enjoyed doing crafts, crosswords puzzles, baking, cooking, gardening, and yardwork. Sherry was a dog lover and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of BCTGM Local 218.
On June 2, 2001, Sherry married Gerald C. Piland, in Las Vegas, NV. He died March 22, 2005.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry Miller Jr. (Julie Hinton) of Hayes, VA, Brian Miller (Joanne) of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Alaina Miller of Yorktown, VA, Alix Miller, Karsin Miller, both of Lawrence, KS; grandson, Korey Miller of Midlothian, VA; great-grandchildren, Sylas Meekins, Eleanor Miller, Alora Miller; Larry Jr. and Brian’s father, Larry Miller Sr., of Hutchinson; and beloved fur baby, Rosie.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike Runyan.
Per Sherry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday, June 30-July 5, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary.
