SUMNER COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 2p.m. Tuesday in Sumner County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Chevy Silverado driven by Edward Fitzpatrick, 73, Neosho Falls, was northbound on U.S. 81 one half mile east of north Seneca Road.
The pickup traveled left of center and into the north ditch. The driver overcorrected and the pickup struck a barrier, continued in the ditch and came to rest on its roof in the Ninnescha River.
EMS transported Fitzpatrick to Wesley Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
