Sheriff: Kansas man had methamphetamine to sell

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan.—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.

Just after 3a.m. April 7, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a  2010 Nissan Sentra for a traffic infraction near 150th and Q. Roads in rural Mayetta, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The vehicle was driven by Steven Gregory Thorne, 27, of Sabetha. During the traffic stop illegal drug paraphernalia was observed within the vehicle resulting in a probable cause search. The search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 15.1 grams of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Thorne was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and drug paraphernalia. Thorne was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
