Stage 9
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Stage 9 announces its 2024 season with 5 shows and a fundraiser. Stage 9 is celebrating 10 years at 9 S. Main. To mark this occasion, all opening night tickets in 2024 will be $10.
Love, Loss, and What I Wore by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron will run Feb. 1-4 at 7:30 p.m. This show has 5 women of various ages. It is for an adult audience. Auditions are November 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and December 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lucky Stiff was the first musical done at 9 S. Main; hence, the revival this year. Audition dates are February 16 from 6-9 p.m. and February 17 from 3-6 p.m. at 9 S. Main. The show dates are April 11-14 and 19-21 at 7:30 p.m. at 9 S. Main.
Our fundraiser for LED lights will be the ever popular, LipSync9. The time and place will be announced later. It will take place on a Saturday in June. If you and your friends or your business associates are interested in entering this fun contest, contact [email protected].
Androcles and the Lion is a family musical about friendship between characters who are totally different and how friends can be made.
Auditions will be in June to be announced later. The show will play the weekend of August 1-4 at 9 S. Main.
The 39 Steps, taken from an Alfred Hitchcock movie, includes a man and a woman and two “clowns” who play multiple parts and could be any gender. Auditions are August 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. and August 24 from 3 to p.m. at 9 S. Main. The show will be Sept. 26 to 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Stage 9.
The last show is Talking Tombstones. When Hutchinson Theatre Guild (Stage 9) began this event almost 20 years ago, we looked for people who had relatives buried at Eastside Cemetery and wanted to tell their relatives’ stories. We would like to do that again this year though your relative does not have to be buried at Eastside. We have people who will help you research and write a 4 minute monologue. This event will be Oct. 19 with two performances. If you are interested, contact [email protected]. She will take them up to March 1.
