A new case of New World screwworm showed up only 160 miles from the Mexico-U.S. border. Just last week, USDA had a reopened the border, but this new case raises significant concerns.
So, Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins has ordered the closure of livestock trade through southern ports of entry as soon as the case was confirmed.
