Gregg Matthew Bohren, 51, formerly of Hutchinson, died October 5, 2022, surrounded by his family after a series of medical complications, at Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, TN. He was born November 10, 1970, in Omaha, NE, to Delmar Fredrick and Janet Ann (Webster) Bohren.
Gregg graduated from Pilgrim Christian High School, Hutchinson, received his bachelor’s degree from American Military University and was proudly working on his master’s degree from Liberty University. Gregg served in the United States Army and the United States Army Reserves, and was discharged with the rank of First Lieutenant. He was currently working for Accenture as an Operational Account Lead and looking forward to moving back to Kansas. Gregg loved anything sports-related from the Nebraska Cornhusker football team to KU basketball, to the Kansas City Royals. Gregg was a life-long learner, and loved his family deeply.
On April 23, 2005, he married Carrie Reust, in Salt Lake City, UT. They shared 17 years of marriage.
Gregg is survived by: his wife, Carrie of Lenexa; daughters, Mackenzie Carlson (Andrew) of Hutchinson and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Bohren of Lenexa, as well as his son, Sullivan Bohren of Kansas City; his mother, Janet Bohren of Hutchinson; sisters, Kristine Goertzen (Rick) of Hoover, Alabama and Kathryn Rich (Scott) of Hutchinson; five beautiful and precious granddaughters, Willow, Adelaide, Clementine, Violetta, and Evangeline; in-laws, Carolyn and Dwight Reust of Council Grove, KS; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends and coworkers.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Buhler Municipal West Cemetery with Pastor Bart Horton officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard. Friends may sign his book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
